Privacy Policy

NextPitch AI ("NextPitch," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have over it. By using the NextPitch platform at nextpitchai.com (the "Service"), you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is NextPitch AI, operated by an individual developer based in Taiwan (Republic of China). For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at privacy@nextpitchai.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and (optionally) profile preferences. This data is processed and stored by Clerk, Inc. (our authentication provider).
2.2 Audio Recordings
When you use the pitch recording feature, you knowingly and voluntarily record your own voice. The audio file is transmitted to OpenAI's Whisper API solely for the purpose of transcription. We do not permanently store your raw audio files. Audio is discarded immediately after transcription is complete. The resulting text transcript is stored in association with your session.
2.3 Presentation Content
When you upload a PDF, we extract the text content from each slide. This text is processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI feedback and scores. We store the extracted text and AI analysis results in our database (Supabase) linked to your account.
2.4 Session Data
We store your pitch session records including: presentation name, audience role, recording duration, speech transcript, Q&A questions and answers, and AI-generated scores and feedback. This data is used to display your session history and progress over time.
2.5 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, Inc.), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. We do not receive, store, or process your credit card details. Lemon Squeezy may collect billing information in accordance with their own privacy policy. We receive only subscription status information (plan type, trial status, subscription ID) from Lemon Squeezy.
2.6 Usage and Technical Data
We collect standard server-side logs including IP addresses, browser type, and page requests for security monitoring and service improvement. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
2.7 Survey Responses
Upon registration, we ask how you discovered NextPitch and your primary goal. These responses are stored in your profile to help us improve the product.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- To generate AI-powered pitch feedback, scores, and coaching questions
- To display your session history and progress
- To manage your account, subscription, and billing
- To send transactional emails (account creation, subscription confirmation, cancellation confirmation) — handled by Lemon Squeezy and Clerk
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your pitch content or recordings to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share your data with the following sub-processors solely to the extent necessary to provide the Service:

Each provider is subject to their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We encourage you to review them.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:
- Authentication cookies — set by Clerk to maintain your logged-in session. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function.
- Language preference — stored in
localStorageto remember your selected language (English or Chinese). - Session state — stored in
sessionStoragetemporarily during a pitch session; cleared when the session completes.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party marketing cookies.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data — retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon account deletion.
- Session records — retained indefinitely to provide session history, unless you delete them or request deletion.
- Audio recordings — not retained beyond the transcription process (seconds to minutes).
- Payment records — retained by Lemon Squeezy per their retention policy for legal and tax compliance.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you may correct inaccurate or incomplete data via your account settings.
- Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Right to data portability — you may request your session data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you may object to certain processing activities.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, access-controlled cloud infrastructure, and service role key isolation for database access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Data Transfers
NextPitch is operated from Taiwan. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where our service providers (Clerk, Supabase, Anthropic, OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy) maintain infrastructure. We rely on these providers' compliance with applicable data protection frameworks.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
